

“Die verbotene Frau” is an overwhelming success in the media and reached a big audience. Since its release in June 2007 over 260,000 copies of the german version were sold. In addition to this there are translations into 11 languages. (see below)
In August 2007, the Munich-based publishing house Droemer Knaur purchased all foreign rights and the license to publish the paperback. First published in September 2008.
Weltbild went on the market with a special edition mid March 2008 and has released the audio book of the bestseller during Christmas 2007.
The movie rights were sold to the Munich-based movie and publishing agency Lianne Kolf in December 2007. In May 2008, discussions began with Nowhere In Africa Oscar-winner producer Andreas Bareiss. After long talks with sheik Khalid to obtain his approval of the movie adaptation, the contract was finally signed in December 5, 2008. The final version of the screenplay is now ready and production is scheduled to begin in late 2011 or early 2012.
